Zomato (formerly known as Urbanspoon) is a powerful smartphone app that recommends restaurants and bars to its users, and also provides a convenient way for users to discover new places to dine and order from.
Users are greeted with a list of local and popular recommendations upon opening the application. From here, they can search for other locations, specific restaurants, cuisines, and make reservations.

When exploring what a certain restaurant offers, the Zomato app provides users with information regarding price, food type, cuisine, and menu items.

Users can also view reviews uploaded by others, as well as their own photographs of the food offered.

Users in some countries can also order food to be delivered by these restaurants from within the app, however I'd like to see this feature also introduced to Australia. Currently, users are only able to order food from the restaurant's own website.

The Verdict

The Zomato app is incredibly useful to explore restaurants and bars, and also see what each establishment offers. It features strong integration of user reviews and experiences, making it even more useful. While it lacks an ability to directly order food for delivery within the app itself, it is still a remarkably easy to use and functional smartphone app.
